Forum Title: metal door latch problem

The front door and the attached garage door are metal and a hard push is required to get the door to latch fully. This also means it's hard to open them, you basically have to push in on the door to relieve the pressure on the latch to open it easily. The doors are not sagging/rubbing on the ground, that was the first issue fixed with some 3 screws, thanks to other advice found on this forum. Any ideas for a fix?

Vinyl or fiberglass windows will make a good replacement. You can get privacy glass in these. They should also be tempered glass. I have a window in my shower. We recently had a fiberglass window with tempered privacy glass installed. Works great.http://flickr.com/gp/drooplug/x5J02A

It's always done it. I'm assuming I would move the strike plate in the same direction the door opens? I'm fine with removing some wood.

Correct...just move it very slightly. I would first take it off and tap the inner tab a bit flatter..see if that is sufficient..if not, then remove it, plug the holes with glued dowels, redrill and remount the strike.
